The neck (or cervical) region of the body consists of 7 vertebrae that allow movement of our head relative to our body. Neck pain can be caused by trauma such as a sporting injury or motor vehicle accident, by holding prolonged awkward positions such as sleeping incorrectly and very commonly with poor posture, with prolonged sitting and with a sedentary or inactive lifestyle.
Due to the close proximity of the joints of the neck to the nerves, significant pain can result sometimes including pain radiating into the arms, numbness or tingling in the arms, weakness in the arms and severe headaches. If untreated neck pain can lead to chronic neck pain.
A thorough examination should be taken alongside neurological and structural tests. Following your examination the chiropractor will treat you for pain relief unless, on the rare occasion, further investigation is required.
At Avalon Beach Chiropractic & Wellness we understand your pain. Our Chiropractor, being a Doctor of Chiropractic, has undertaken 5 years full time study focused on the muscular-skeletal system.
Following comprehensive examination our Chiropractor will advise you on which treatment is most necessary, whether it is manual or gentle chiropractic techniques, soft tissue techniques, massage, and/or rehabilitation. Unless it is deemed unsafe, our Chiropractor will treat you following the examination and then take additional time the following visit to explain your problem and personalized treatment plan.
Our clinic’s focus is on finding your underlying problem, rehabilitating you to good health and ensuring you are educated on the necessary steps to avoid this unfortunate situation presenting again.
